Du Jinsheng (1897-1943) was a famous Chinese silk industrialist. He established the Dujinsheng Silk Weaving Mill in 1922 at his home in Hangzhou’s Maojiabu Village. Since then, his name has come to represent the art and craft of silk brocade. Dujinsheng’s silk products won a gold medal at the 1926 Philadelphia World’s Fair. The Dujinsheng Silk Brocade Museum, China’s first specialty brocade museum, is located at Fengqi Road in Hangzhou.
