The GAC Honda 2018 Hangzhou Marathon will be held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, on Nov 14, according to a news conference held on Aug 9.

The official registration for this year's marathon will be available on both the Hangzhou Marathon official website and WeChat from Aug 16 to 30.

The 2018 Hangzhou Marathon will hold the same set of events as seen in the past few years, including full and half marathons, mini marathon, a couples run, and a kids/family run.

It is estimated that 35,000 runners will take part in this year's event, with 15,000 competing in the full marathon and 10,000 in the half.

For the first time, Hangzhou marathon organizers will apply facial recognition to identify the runners and ensure the safety of the race.

As one of the oldest annual marathons in China, the Hangzhou Marathon is considered to have "one of the most beautiful marathon racing tracks in China," and draws competitors from all over the world.
