A crystal cup of the Warring States Period unearthed in the Town of Banshan in the northern suburb of Hangzhou in 1990 is a Grade One national cultural relic. Though of simple form and made over 2,000 years ago, it is a still fashionable artifact of those distant times. In the Spring and Autumn Warring States Period, the area of Hangzhou, a strategic place for the southern kingdoms, was annexed to the Kingdom of Wu, the Kingdom of Yue and the Kingdom of Chu in succession.
