Toshiba Corporation, well-known internationally, separated out its air conditioning department in April, 1994. Toshiba and Carrier, together one of the largest air conditioning manufacturers in the world, co-founded a new joint venture company – Toshiba Carrier Corporation. With the two groups' advantages in product development, production and sales network, and equipped with a diversified product lineup, advanced technology and service, Toshiba Carrier has achieved a competitive position in the global market.

To meet the increasing market demand of China, Toshiba Carrier Corporation and Carrier Asia Limited jointly established a new company -- Toshiba Carrier Air-conditioning (China) Co Ltd. in September 2013. The company is located in the Xiasha Economic and Technology Development Zone of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province. With an investment of 800 million yuan and a registered capital of 360 million yuan, it now has 800 employees. The main business of the company includes the design, production, sales and service of air conditioning products and components and technical consultations regarding them.

The company has adopted a production management system and quality inspection standards consistent with those of the parent company in Fuji, Japan to ensure that the quality of the products is consistent with the original imported products. Moreover, making full use of Hangzhou's convenient geographical location, abundant human resources and other investment environment advantages, the sales performance and production capacity in the Chinese mainland has been increasing continuously.
