Zhejiang Police College is situated in Hangzhou --- a historic city famous for its natural scenery. The college has two campuses: Binjiang and Lin’an. It is the highest learning institute of police education and training at the provincial level in China. Currently, it has a total of 4,000 full-time students.

Founded in 1985, the college carries on from its predecessor, the Zhejiang Cadre School of Public Security, which was initiated in May 1949. It is equipped with sophisticated facilities such as multi-function & media classrooms, a conference hall, a library with a large book collection and electronic reading devices, as well as reading-rooms with plenty of seats. More than 30 basic and specialized labs involving DNA testing, scanning electronic mirrors and trace detection techniques are in place.

The college has a standard athletic field, a field for driver training, a field for police tactics training, a field for playing all kinds of ball games, and live & mimic pistol ranges; altogether it provides first-class equipment in police training and cultivation.

On the one hand the college carries out full-time specific public law enforcement education. Courses currently offered include: computer science & technology, law science and traffic management and police tactics training. On the other hand, it also holds more administrative training is such matters as promotions through ranks and titles.

The college has a fleet of professional talents specialized in public security education, with a faculty of professors, assistant-professors, lecturers and assistants. Also, a group of noted experts and scholars from home and abroad as well as leaders from public security organs are engaged as honorary or guest instructors.
