Introduction:
Nadi is located on the western side of the main island of Viti Levu. It has an area of 20 square meters and a population of about 40,000. It is the third-largest conurbation and an important traffic hub in Fiji. It is also the country’s only air harbor and crossroad of the South Pacific. The tourism islands are accessible by all kinds of transportation.
Given the brilliant attractions of the Fiji Islands, known around the world, tourism is a mainstay of the local economy, and there is always a large transient population of foreign tourists.
Nadi Township was established in 1947. It is multiracial with many of its inhabitants Indian or Fijian. With its large Indo-Fijian population, Nadi is a center for Hinduism and Islam in Fiji.
