In 2016, the output value of industrial enterprises above the designated size in  Hangzhou Yuhang Economic and Technological Development Zone was 51.48 billion yuan ($8.04 billion); the industrial added value reached 12.51 billion yuan; the total fiscal revenue amounted to 4.07 billion yuan, including 1.91 billion yuan of recurrent revenue; approximately 3.45 billion yuan provided by investors outside Hangzhou was in place; the investment of Zhejiang merchants amounted to 2.56 billion yuan; the first intelligent manufacturing base in the province settled in the zone; it was honored as an excellent national-level development zone in Zhejiang.

Yuhang Economic and Technological Development Zone has made new breakthroughs in intelligent manufacturing. Hangzhou Robam Appliances Co was approved as a pilot demonstration project of intelligent manufacturing by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Zhejiang CFMoto Power Co and Hangzhou Xio Lift Co were intelligent manufacturing pilot demonstration projects of Zhejiang province.

In the year of 2016, a total of eight demonstration projects for the integration of informatization and industrialization, 17 Internet of Things projects in factories and 30 projects involving the replacement of handwork by robots were identified.

Zhejiang Betta Pharmaceuticals Co and Hangzhou Weiguang Electronic Co have been listed on the Growth Enterprise Market and the market of small-sized and medium enterprise board of Shenzhen Stock Exchange, respectively.

The zone had six additional enterprises listed on China's National Equities Exchange and Quotations (NEEQ), also known as the "New Third Board" and three companies were listed on the equity exchange center of Zhejiang province in 2016.

Hangzhou Changjiang Passenger Vehicle Co received the second permit to manufacture electric passenger vehicles in China.

Zhejiang Tieliu Clutch Co has been awarded as a "Famous Trademark of China". Hangzhou Xio Lift Co and four other enterprises were honored by the province for its intelligent manufacturing.

Zhejiang CFMoto Power Co, Hangzhou Changjiang Passenger Vehicle Co and 17 other companies in the zone were the designated suppliers of the 2016 G20 Summit held in Hangzhou.

In 2016, the zone attracted a group of innovation and entrepreneurship platforms, including Zhongyi Medical and Health Industrial Park, Zhejiang Academy of Medical Sciences, a space technology innovation center, a centralized inspection platform for the entry and exit of special items and a medical equipment inspection institute.

It had one additional expert under the national 1000-Talent Plan, three under the provincial 1000-Talent Plan, one provincial incubator, two municipal incubators, two provincial enterprise research institutes, 11 provincial research centers, and 33 firms identified as national high-tech enterprises.

Six projects were included in the list of major scientific innovation projects of Hangzhou. Zhejiang Betta Pharmaceuticals Co won the first prize of the National Scientific and Technological Progress Award and China Grand Awards for Industry and was honored as a national advantageous enterprise for intellectual property rights. It obtained more than 1,000 patents and two other provincial demonstration enterprises in 2016.
