Abstract: At present, in face of the one-in-a-century volatile changes, China is striving to foster a new development paradigm with domestic circulation as the mainstay and domestic and international circulations reinforcing each other. The China Railway Express (CRexpress), with unique advantages of being faster than sea freight, larger than air freight, and continuous and stable large-scale operation, played a huge role in ensuring safe and stable performance of the global supply chain amid COVID-pandemic. In the first half of 2021, China Railway Express maintained its strong development momentum, which saw the operation of 7,323 freight trains and the delivery of 701,000 TEUs of goods, up by 43 percent and 52 percent year on year respectively. In the next step, China Railway Express will continue to play its role in stabilizing the international logistics supply chain of China, focus on accelerating the reform of the subsidy mechanism and improving the development level of assembly centers, enhance the integrated governance capacity, speed up the building of China Railway Express core hubs and backbone networks and realize the comprehensive transformation of freight trains’ operation from a point-to-point mode to a hub-to-hub one in a bid to smooth the domestic and international circulations.
