Abstract: With the social and economic development in China, the supply capacity of cultural products and services is increasingly enhanced, the level of cultural consumption is constantly improved, cultural and creative industries have become increasingly integrated with relevant industries, and cultural economy plays a more and more important role in China’s national economy and social development. But it should be noted that the development of cultural economy is lagging behind structural transformation and curbed by some issues for further advance mainly including regional incoordination, industrial imbalance, difficulties in upgrading and market-oriented reform. These problems are spawned by the lack of originality of cultural content, the large proportion of cultural manufacturing industry and the sluggish growth of for-profit cultural undertakings. In the future, China’s cultural economy will enter a stage of rapid growth and high-quality development. The innovation and application of emerging information technology and business model will become imperative under the circumstances. Concept cultural enterprises will feel great brunt from the market. The market of cultural economy needs to be further classified and the internationalization of cultural economy will usher in an important period of strategic opportunity for expanding presence in the international community.
