Ma Jiantang, Party Secretary of the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC) led a delegation to Vietnam from November 6 to 10.
The delegation conducted special research on promoting the Belt and Road Initiative construction and deepening agricultural development cooperation.

Ma held talks with leaders of the Ministry of Economy of Vietnam. They exchanged views on the macroeconomic situation of China and Vietnam, the medium and long-term strategy of China-Vietnam economic and social development, the "Two Corridors and One Economic Circle" strategy and the Belt and Road Initiative, the China-US trade friction and the maintenance of the world multilateral trading system, Sino-Vietnamese economic and trade investment cooperation, and expanding cooperation between China and Vietnam.
The two sides signed minutes of the meeting and agreed to continue to implement the memorandum of cooperation between the two countries. They will enhance cooperation through personnel exchanges, exchanges of experience in economic and social development, and joint research.

The topics of the first session of joint research were "Promoting the "Two Corridors and One Economic Circle" strategy and the Belt and Road Initiative docking research" and "Strengthening Sino-Vietnamese economic and trade investment, especially agricultural product trade cooperation research”.
The delegation also held talks with Vietnamese officials on jointly promoting the Belt and Road Initiative and deepening agricultural development cooperation, conducted on-site inspection of the Da Nang High-tech Industrial Park, and held a symposium on Chinese-funded enterprises.
