A delegation of the Development Research Center (DRC) of the State Council visited Turkey and the US from April 19 to 26. Wang Yiming, Vice-President of the DRC, learned about financial support for the Belt and Road Initiative in Turkey and infrastructure cooperation between China and the US.
The delegation visited the Center for Strategic Research of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Investment Support and Promotion of the Republic of Turkey and talked about major cooperation projects between China and Turkey, foreign investment and trade policies in Turkey, and fund-raising for infrastructure construction.
The delegation also visited the SETA Foundation for Political, Economic and Social Research to review the country’s economic development and foreign policy.

In the US the delegation visited the International Monetary Fund and exchanged views on global economic growth and China-US trade relations with David Lipton, first deputy managing director of the IMF, and deputy managing director Zhang Tao.
The delegation also went to the US Federal Reserve Board and the Financial Stability Oversight Council to discuss US monetary policy, financial supervision, and Chinese economic development.
The DRC group then visited the California state government and the Energy Foundation to talk about prospects for cooperation in the field of infrastructure between China and the US and exchange views on clean energy and low-carbon development.

Wang’s group finally investigated the Visa Innovation Center to understand the possibility of US financial technology development and cooperation between China and the US in payment innovation.
