Focus on Industrial Transformation and Upgrade to Push ahead with Anxi County’s Tea Industry(Special Issue No.1.2016)

Abstract: The One Belt and One Road Initiative embodies such development approaches as “peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and mutual benefit”. Anxi county of Fujian province should seize favorable opportunities brought about by the One Belt and One Road Initiative to promote technological innovation, internationalization, and diversification, face up to existing problems and challenges, and make the most of its own advantages to facilitate the ecological development of tea industry. As an important tea-producingcounty with a favorable geological location on the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road, Anxi county should take the following steps. 1. Seize beneficial opportunities based on the One Belt and One Road Initiative to push forward tea industry; 2. Focus on talent training to realize specialized industrial management; 3. Enhance technological innovation to utilize low-carbon production technologies; 4. Propel product innovation to diversify product types; 5. Enforce strict quality management to conduct standardized product testing; 6. Establish ecological tea plantations to provide diversified industrial services; 7. Strengthen industrial interaction to achieve integrated industrial development; 8. Expand ways of circulation to form an internationalized industrial setup; and 9. Improve institutional construction to transform government functions.
