The president of the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC), Li Wei, met with a US delegation headed by John Podesta, a former White House Chief of Staff and an advisor to President Barack Obama on climate change and energy policy, on March 30, in Beijing, to discuss China's comprehensively deepened reforms, the 'new normal' of its economy, and the big power relations between China and the US.

Also taking part in the meeting were Cheng Guoqiang, director-general of DRC's International Cooperation Department, Hou Yongzhi, director-general of its Department of Development Strategy and Regional Economy, and Zhao Jinping, director-general of the Research Department of Foreign Economic Relations.
