Abstract:　

At present,the joint-venture insurance companies in China show the following common features：they all have just two stock holders, one from each side. The Chinese side is a business conglomerate with certain market shares, the foreign side is integrated insurance group, that has entered China's financial market in many fields. In recent years, problems appear in overusing of market power through China's side, which has led to conflicts between voting power and economic interest and culture. Issues to be put under close supervision are: the development trend of the joint-venture insurance companies, the conditions for fair competition, the roles of foreign capital funded insurance companies in China's insurance market, as well as risk management and possible monopolistic behavior of these companies.
