Abstract:
The current geographic division that puts China into the three-region specification cannot fit into the requirement raised by the coordinated regional development strategy. Following a thorough analysis in regional features in natural and socio-economic conditions, and in line with the new scientific development strategy and the "five coordinated development" concept, this study comes up with a new geographic-regional planning proposal, which specifies a new division into three regions and ten economic zones in China in the future.
