Abstract:
China's foreign trade experienced a rapid growth in 2003. It is estimated that the trend of growth will continue in 2004, but the rate will be substantively lower, with the annually accumulated trade surplus declining as well. Critical points in managing the foreign trade in 2004 are as follows: to further improve export promotion policies, continue to use FDI to promote foreign trade, strengthen regulation on key imports. At the same time, close attention should be paid to the impact resulted from fluctuation of USD exchange rate on China's export, properly handle trade frictions with other countries and further straighten out foreign trade order.
