    So far, accordingly, the 10 maritime courts and their tribunals dispatched, through the people’s congress standing committee on the same level of the district courts, have appointed 190 people’s jurors, including experts on ship collisions, bunker oil contamination, and offshore rescue, and government officials, port officials, employees of enterprises and institution, and well respected local fishermen and islanders, who participated in 1,252 trial cases only in 2013 constituting 11% of first instance maritime cases of the same year, opening the public eye on maritime justice, and bridging the distance between maritime adjudication and the common people, strengthening the public’s understanding and trust in the maritime judicial system.
