Updated: 2024-11-26

Nine members of the Biophysical Society of China (BSC) were honored with the 18th China Youth Science and Technology Award earlier this month.

The winners were announced at the World Young Scientist Summit, which took place in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, on Nov 17.

The China Youth Science and Technology Award is presented every two years, with no more than 100 winners per session. Over the past 30 years, nearly 1,600 young scientists have received this prestigious award.

Established in 1987, the award aims to recognize outstanding young scientists from across China. Proposed by renowned scientists such as Qian Xuesen, it is jointly organized by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the China Association for Science and Technology.

The award seeks to foster a group of young academic and technological pioneers who will lead the way in advancing global scientific frontiers. It honors young scientists who have made significant contributions to national economic development, social progress and technological innovation.
