The 2024 Tongming Lake Forum opened at the Tongming Lake Convention Center in Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) on Dec 25.

This forum featured five sections including the opening ceremony and main forum, parallel sub-forums, high-end closed-door meetings, achievements exhibition, and special contests.

It gathered distinguished guests such as Ni Guangnan and Shen Changxiang, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

During the opening ceremony, ten major development trends in innovative information technology applications for 2025, as well as multiple achievements in operating system software ecology and service platform have been announced.

The AI sub-committee of the national standards committee in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region was established, releasing eight national standards including the AI management system and algorithm assessment.

Meanwhile, the national park for information technology application innovation industry in E-Town has welcomed the settlement of over ten key projects with a total investment exceeding 10 billion yuan ($1.37 billion).

Concurrently with the main forum, more than ten distinct and content-rich sub-forums focusing on innovative applications of information technology in industries such as education, finance, security, transportation, and power were conducted.

As a pioneer in leading the high-quality development of the capital in the new era, Beijing E-Town closely aligns itself with the implementation of national strategies, conducts key core technology research, accelerates future information layout, and nurtures new productive forces.

The new generation information technology industry, as one of the four leading industries in the area, has brought together over 90 percent of the top information technology companies in the country.

It covers the entire industrial chain from upstream to downstream, including CPUs, operating systems, databases, servers, complete machine terminals, supercomputing, network security services, and application software, achieving a fully integrated industrial chain and forming a basic independent system.

In 2024, the output value of the new generation information technology industry in E-Town is expected to exceed 160 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth rate of about 30.7 percent compared to 2023.

More than 1,000 participants, including officials from relevant departments in Beijing, experts and scholars in the field of information technology nationwide, and representatives from businesses, attended the 2024 Tongming Lake Forum.
