The high-end automotive and new energy intelligent vehicle industry in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) has an annual output value exceeding 200 billion yuan ($28.34 billion), accounting for nearly 60 percent of the automotive industry's output value in Beijing.

Beijing E-Town has gathered leading vehicle manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz, BAIC BJEV, Xiaomi Auto, and nearly 40 renowned domestic and international automotive component enterprises.

In the first eight months of this year, sales of ARCFOX, a high-end intelligent electric vehicle brand created by BAIC BJEV, increased by 198 percent compared with the same period last year. ARCFOX is planning to strengthen its distribution channels in the cities where they have not yet established a presence. By the end of this year, it aims to expand the coverage to 123 cities, achieving a coverage rate of 97 percent in first, second and third-tier cities.

CATL established its first battery factory in Beijing E-Town this year. The power battery, one of the three core components of electric vehicles, serves as the driving force of the entire vehicle system. This project is intended to support new energy vehicle manufacturers such as BAIC and Xiaomi Auto, further enhancing the new energy intelligent automobile industry chain in Beijing E-Town.

Amid the global wave of automotive industry upgrading, Beijing E-Town is promoting the transformation of the traditional automotive industry towards intelligence, connectivity, and electrification. It is accelerating the development of an industrial ecosystem that integrates "new energy vehicles - intelligent transportation - connected vehicle services".
