Beijing E-Town to become a national robotics industry hub

Updated: 2024-08-19

Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) plans to implement 50 "robot+" application scenario demonstration projects, accelerating the construction of a national hub for the robotics industry.

Beijing E-Town has already seen many accomplishments in the robotic applications, including the production lines served by over 700 robots in Xiaomi’s factory, the first certified AI catering robot in operating in China and the deployment of unmanned delivery vehicles.

Aiming at leading the building of a high-level innovation center, Beijing E-Town is supporting collaboration between major institutions and enterprises along the industrial chain, promoting key technology breakthroughs such as the prototype of general large-scale models of humanoid robots, operation control systems, toolchains, open-source operating systems, and developer communities.

In addition, to build the national robotics hub, Beijing E-Town intends to promote the development of industrial clusters, such as establishing a 10-billion-yuan ($1.55 billion) government investment guidance fund, setting up high-energy-level innovation platforms, nurturing high-level industrial talents, and supporting the leading robot enterprises to strengthen the integration of industry and education with universities.

As the robotics industry enters a crucial period of rapid development, Beijing E-Town intends to accelerate the construction of a domestically leading and internationally advanced robotics industry cluster.
