An opening ceremony was held for the new location of Beijing IGM Robotersysteme AG in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) on July 24, marking another international industrial robotics group setting up its China headquarters in Beijing E-Town.

IGM, a member of Global Welding Technologies, is a leading player in the global industrial welding sector. Its China headquarters - Beijing IGM - is dedicated to driving its business development in China, primarily providing robotic welding systems, electron beam equipment solutions, turnkey projects and electron beam processing services.

The construction of Beijing IGM in Beijing E-Town includes a robot assembly production line, a robot tooling research and development center, a central control system development center for automated welding flexible production lines, an electron beam processing production line, and offices for robots and electron beams.

Beijing IGM's robot products now have a market share of 30 percent in the domestic engineering machinery sector and about 60 percent in the railway industry. Its vacuum electron beam equipment holds a domestic market share of up to 40 percent in industries such as shipbuilding, aerospace and defense.

"We were attracted by the industrial ecosystem, location advantages, and business environment in Beijing E-Town, deciding to relocate here. Moving forward, we will continue to consolidate our market advantages in sectors such as railways, engineering machinery, aerospace and automotive industries. With the completion of our new site, we expect our revenue to exceed 100 million yuan ($13.79 million) this year," said Meng Kesheng, general manager of Beijing IGM.

There are already over 100 robotics companies gathered in Beijing E-Town, forming a complete robotics industry chain covering core components, complete machines and applications. The robotics industry is expected to reach a scale of 10 billion yuan in 2025.
