Beijing E-Town recently released ten action plans to optimize the business environment. How will the area assist enterprises in enhancing their competitive advantages through these plans?

According to the plan, Beijing E-Town proposes five specific measures to enhance independent innovation capability, accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, strengthen innovation service support, strengthen the formulation of innovation standards, and implement the "Innovative Enterprise Doubling Plan."

Through capital subsidies, the plan promotes enterprises to enhance their independent innovation capabilities and accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. 

Recently, Beijing E-Town implemented rewards exceeding 130 million yuan ($18.08 million) for increased research and development investment, and WeMed Medical Equipment Co was one of the recipients of this policy package. 

To strengthen innovation service support, Beijing E-Town supports the construction of public technology service platforms such as concept verification, prototyping centers, and pilot scale-up, as well as park-shared service facilities, encouraging the development of technology service enterprises in testing, inspection, intellectual property rights, and achievement transformation, providing key support for the industrialization of innovative achievements.

The area also strengthens the formulation of innovation standards, supports enterprises in participating in the formulation of international and domestic standards, develops high-quality group standards and enterprise standards, and enhances the ability to transform independent intellectual property rights into industry standards.

As of mid-December last year, NAURA Technology Group Co has cultivated seven high-value patent portfolios in the fields of semiconductor etching and chemical vapor deposition, involving 35 invention patent applications, and has applied for 8 PCT, overseas national, and regional patents, planning to apply for 15 PCT and enter overseas national and regional patents. 

In 2023, the core area of Beijing E-Town had 850 invention patents per 10,000 people, nearly four times the city's average level.

According to the plan, Beijing E-Town will implement the "Innovative Enterprise Doubling Plan" next, optimizing the "incubator-accelerator-industrial park" full-chain incubation and cultivation model, striving to break through 2,300 national high-tech enterprises and 130 national-level "little giant" enterprises in 2024.
