At the opening ceremony of the 26th Beijing-Taiwan Science and Technology Forum on Sept 19, the Cross-Strait Science and Technology Innovation Center was inaugurated and established in the E-Business Valley of Beijing E-Town. 

The center is jointly initiated by more than 10 organizations, including the Taiwan Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, the Beijing E-Town Administration, and the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association. 

It aims to create a comprehensive platform for innovative collaboration and development for science and technology enterprises from both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

"The center is a new initiative to implement the construction of the Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center and serves as a new platform for facilitating science and technology exchange and cooperation between both sides," according to a representative from Beijing E-Town.

The primary functions of the center include research collaboration, results exhibition, technology exchange, project cooperation, talent interaction, and enterprise services. 

By establishing mechanisms for communication, cooperation research, and activity exchange, the center intends to promote the implementation of Beijing-Taiwan cooperative projects, facilitate the integration of advantageous industries, and advance the development of industries towards intelligence, environmental friendliness, and integration, contributing to the construction of an innovative industrial cluster with global influence.

The center is situated in the Beijing-Taiwan Industrial Park and leverages the E-Business Valley as its spatial carrier. 

Established in 2019, the Beijing-Taiwan Industrial Park is focused on modern service industries with a technological emphasis. It has set up nationally recognized innovation spaces and unique incubation platforms, laying a solid industrial foundation for technology transfer. 

As the host of the Cross-Strait Sci-Tech Center, Beijing E-Town boasts a robust industrial foundation and comprehensive support policies that provide full support and security for the center's operations. 

In terms of the industrial ecosystem, the area is a key platform for the construction of Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center and serves as a major hub for high-tech manufacturing and strategic emerging industry development. 

It actively cultivates world-influential industries such as "Internet-connected vehicles," "innovative medicines," and "smart manufacturing," forming a "421" industrial system. 

In the policy system, comprehensive policies covering the entire lifecycle of enterprises, including support for high-tech enterprises, industry development funds, special patent incentives, and talent support policies, have been set up.

The establishment of the Cross-Strait Science and Technology Innovation Center will promote the implementation of Beijing-Taiwan cooperative projects, facilitate the integration of advantageous industries, and support the transformation of cross-strait scientific and technological innovation achievements.
