CERES-1 Y6 carrier rocket launched
The Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center announced the successful launch of the CERES-1 Y6 carrier rocket at 13:07 on July 22. This marks the fifth successful launch by aerospace companies from Beijing E-Town this year.
"The CERES-1 Y6 is the sixth consecutive successful launch of the CERES-1 series carrier rocket and the third launch of the S01 batch of mass-produced rockets by Galactic Energy. This launch marks the official start of Galactic Energy's high-density launch delivery cycle in the second half of the year," said Liu Baiqi, CEO of Galactic Energy, a private rocket maker in Beijing E-Town.
So far, Galactic Energy has served 12 commercial satellite customers and completed the launch of 21 commercial satellites into orbit. This launch carried two satellites.
Previously, considering the difficulties faced by private commercial aerospace companies in insurance, Beijing E-Town pioneered the laddering insurance mode. Under this model, for the same type of rocket, insurance coverage gradually increases as the number of successful rocket launches increases, and expenses become more manageable.
The innovative new model of commercial aerospace insurance is just a glimpse of Beijing E-Town's efforts to support the development of the aerospace industry.
"We have enjoyed various policies, including subsidies for new talent-founded enterprises in the area, youth talent development support programs, and special awards for E-Town talents totaling more than 2.2 million yuan ($306,740)," said the head of Galactic Energy.
In the second half of the year, as the company carries out multiple rocket launch missions, Galactic Energy continues to enjoy special policies for commercial aerospace launch insurance, launch service fees, and other costs.
Since the establishment of the special task force for the automotive and intelligent manufacturing industries this year, Beijing E-Town has identified the commercial aerospace sector as an important segment and has been fully committed to promoting the high-quality development of the commercial aerospace industry.
The achievements in the development of the commercial aerospace industry in Beijing E-Town have been fruitful. According to the plan, there will be 14 rocket launches by Beijing E-Town aerospace companies this year, and commercial launches in 2023 will account for one-fourth of China's aerospace activities.
