The "Collaborating Future - 2023 Autonomous Driving Future City Carnival" organized by the Beijing Advanced Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone Office, was held at Tongzhou Wanda Plaza on June 22.

The carnival aims to present an intelligent lifestyle in the future to the public.

This year, the Beijing Advanced Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone is advancing its Phase 3.0 expansion. 

Previously, the demonstration zone had achieved full coverage of vehicle-to-infrastructure integration in over 300 intersections and 750 kilometers of urban roads in the 60-square-kilometer area of the Beijing E-Town, as well as 10 kilometers of the Beijing-Taiwan Expressway.

Meanwhile, the 155-square-kilometer area of the Beijing's sub-center Tongzhou district became the first to achieve dynamic optimization of intelligent traffic signals, and the expansion of the Demonstration Zone's Phase 3.0 has been initiated.

This event showcased various scenarios such as Robotaxis, unmanned delivery, unmanned retail, and unmanned cleaning, using relevant autonomous driving vehicles and multimedia information displays. 

It provided a tangible display window for the development and application of autonomous driving technology, allowing citizens to have a more intuitive and comprehensive understanding of autonomous driving technology and its application scenarios.

At the venue, interactive games and clown magic performances bridged the gap between people and cutting-edge technology. 

A series of fully functional and diverse autonomous driving vehicles attracted onlookers who took photos and experienced them firsthand. Some couldn't help but exclaim, "I didn't realize autonomous driving technology had advanced to this level. It can already achieve unmanned retail and unmanned delivery. I want to try Robotaxis next time." 

In addition, the event coincided with the Dragon Boat Festival, and making colorful ropes and sachets became a major feature of the event.

This year, the demonstration zone will promote the construction of a surrounding 100-square-kilometer area and gradually expand to complete the 500-square-kilometer expansion of the demonstration zone throughout the city. 

The head of the Beijing Advanced Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone Office stated that the high-level autonomous driving demonstration zone with vehicle-to-infrastructure integration is an important component of a smart city.
