Products from 'intelligent manufacturing of new medicines' factory draw attention
The Science and Technology Expo opened at the Zhongguancun Exhibition Center in Beijing on May 26, showcasing a variety of innovative biopharmaceutical products from Beijing E-Town. It highlights the unique charm of the "intelligent manufacturing of new medicines" factory.
In front of the Sanofi booth, a medicine attracted many visitors. "This is the recently launched product, Soliqua, which is suitable for adult patients with poorly controlled type 2 diabetes and can address the effectiveness of blood glucose control, the risk of hypoglycemia, and weight benefits," said Zhu Hailuan, vice president of Sanofi China.
"Currently, the first batch of this product has achieved local subcontracting, and Sanofi Beijing factory is also about to launch a Soliqua expansion project to meet the health needs of a large number of diabetic patients in China," Zhu added.
In the WeMed Medical exhibition area, a unique surgical demonstration is taking place. The person in charge of the exhibition area remarked, "This is the ETcath vascular intervention robot. ETcath can precisely perform the manipulation of guide wires, balloon delivery, stent insertion, and IVUS catheter advancement throughout the entire surgical process. Unlike traditional surgeries that must be performed in the operating room, ETcath achieves inter-room operation in terms of manipulation, minimizing the radiation exposure to doctors from surgical X-rays."
The WeMed ETcath intervention surgery robot has already been clinically applied in well-known hospitals such as Beijing Anzhen Hospital, becoming the first domestically developed vascular intervention surgical robot supporting multiple types of catheters to pass the special review procedure for innovative medical devices in China.
"Ganning Q560a can provide patients with the most suitable and matched collimation-filtered scan, greatly reducing radiation exposure, minimizing the impact of useless rays on images, and improving image quality," said a representative of Kuanteng Medical, introducing their product.
As the latest imaging product, Ganning Q560a possesses 70kV low-dose scanning technology, which makes CT scans safer and greener. It meets the clinical needs for infant and child examinations, low-dose lung cancer screening for adults, and routine physical examinations for healthy individuals.
In addition, Beijing E-Town has many other innovative exhibits making their appearance at the expo, such as the novel CD38 monoclonal antibody medicine, Sarclisa, used in the treatment of adults with multiple myeloma. The products showcase the cutting-edge technology and achievements in the field of biotechnology and the big health industry in Beijing E-Town.
