Beijing E-Town opened the application for incentives and subsidies in the game industry for the year 2022 from May 18 to May 31. Check the following to learn how to apply.

Applicants can access the official website of Beijing E-Town and register to submit the project.

For newly-settled enterprises with an annual tax payment of 1 million yuan ($141,813.7) or more, and an average tax contribution of 2,000 yuan per square meter or more, they will receive a subsidy equal to 50 percent of the actual rent paid between Jan 1 and Dec 28, 2022, with a maximum subsidy of 1.5 yuan every day per square meter.

Enterprises exceeding the annual industry target for R&D intensity will receive support equal to 20 percent of the exceeding amount, up to a maximum of 3 million yuan. 

Besides, research institutions obtaining relevant national-level qualifications between Jan 1, 2020 and Dec 28, 2022 will receive a one-time funding support of 10 million yuan. 

Institutions with relevant qualifications recognized by Beijing E-Town will receive a one-time funding support of 500,000 yuan.

Furthermore, projects recognized as national-level outstanding games will receive a matching fund support of 1:1, up to a maximum of 2 million yuan. Projects recognized as municipal-level outstanding games will receive a matching fund support of 1:1, up to a maximum of 1 million yuan. The cumulative support amount should not exceed the project's self-raised funds.

Eligible public service platforms meeting related criteria will receive support equal to 10 percent of the total investment in fixed assets and platform operations, including venue, infrastructure, service equipment, and information transformation, which incurred between Jan 1, 2020 and Dec 28, 2022, with a maximum support of 2 million yuan.

For outstanding achievements in industry integration and accumulated annual procurement exceeding 20 million yuan, a funding reward equal to 1 percent of the total contract amount will be granted, up to a maximum of 2 million yuan.

In addition, institutions applying for subsidies for the construction of professional esports venues in 2022 will receive funds equal to 30 percent of the actual investment amount incurred between Jan 1, 2020, and Dec 28, 2022, for decoration, professional equipment purchase, and other related expenses. The support amount should not exceed 10 million yuan.

In 2022, clubs that achieve first, second, or third place in major international esports events such as international invitation tournaments and global finals will be granted rewards of 2 million yuan, 1.5 million yuan, and 1 million yuan, respectively, upon verification. 

For clubs that achieve first, second, or third place in major domestic esports events such as national esports competitions and professional leagues will be granted rewards of 1 million yuan, 800,000 yuan, and 500,000 yuan, respectively, upon verification.

Meanwhile, priority support will be given to organizing major international, national, Beijing, or Beijing E-Town esports events or exhibition forums such as international invitation tournaments and global finals. 

Upon verification, a one-time subsidy of up to 20 percent of the actual event expenses will be granted, with each event subsidy amount not exceeding 5 million yuan, 3 million yuan and 100,000 yuan respectively.
