Walking into the second factory of SMC (China) Co in Beijing E-Town, the production and assembly workshops of pneumatic components, such as piston rods, cylinder barrels, and end caps, are undergoing intense production.

The industrial output value of SMC (China) in the first half of this year achieved a year-on-year increase of 100 percent. It  is expected that the annual output value this year will reach 17 billion yuan ($2.4 billion), year-on-year increase of 120 percent, according to SMC (China). 

On the large monitoring screen of the Shenzhou cell experiment workshop, the high-tech machinery is running with no interruption, and the front-line employees in dust-free work clothes are focused and busy. Some of them used droppers to absorb the liquid medicine, and some worked the machines to experiment with the product.

As a biopharmaceutical company in Beijing E-Town, Shenzhou Cell has developed into a unicorn company engaged in the research and development and industrialization of monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins, vaccines and similar products. 

There are currently 23 products under research. The first domestic third-generation recombinant human coagulation factor VIII and new anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody developed by the company have been approved for marketing.

Kong Lei, director of Beijing E-Town Administrative Committee, said that as the main position of high-tech industries in Beijing, E-Town has accelerated the resumption of work and production of enterprises. It has stabilized production reaching production capacity, and ensured the normal operation of enterprises, parks, and major facilities in the area.

Eight measures have been formulated to promote the resumption of production focusing on supporting the enterprises to reduce costs, increase capital, expand production and ensure smooth supply.

This November, the industrial output value above the designated size in Beijing E-Town increased by 16 percent month-on-month, and the resumption rate of the top 100 enterprises reached 100 percent.
