Actual utilization of foreign capital in Beijing E-Town increases steadily
From January to September, the actual use of foreign capital in Beijing E-Town steadily increased throughout 2022, with a year-on-year increase of more than 100 percent.
"The SMC attaches great importance to the development prospects of Beijing E-Town, so in April 2021, we completed the re-organization of China's businesses and established the SMC Investment Management Co in Beijing E-Town as our business headquarters in China", remarked Ma Qinghai, general manager of the SMC Investment Management Co.
In the first three quarters of this year, the SMC's industrial output value in Beijing E-Town is expected to reach 11 billion yuan ($1.58 billion), a year-on-year increase of 100 percent. This doubling of output value growth is due to the business restructuring completed by the SMC last April.
As the first batch of foreign-funded enterprises to invest and develop in Beijing E-Town, SMC China has built four factories, one R&D center, and three logistics centers successively over the past 20 years, forming the SMC's largest pneumatic product manufacturing base in the world.
As an important production base of Mondelez China in North China, since Mondelez Beijing settled in Beijing E-Town in 2007, it has benefited greatly from Beijing E-Town policies.
According to Zhang Hanzhang, director of Mondelez's Beijing factory, "In a limited space, we have expanded our production lines from the original two to six, through technological upgrades. In the past five years alone, Mondelez Beijing has invested nearly 100 million yuan in the upgrading and transformation of the original production line. Not only has our production capacity doubled, but the export volume has also shown continuous double-digit growth over the past three years.”
