The 2022 Beijing hidden champion enterprise list was announced recently.

The China Nuclear Control System Engineering Co. (CNCS) and the Beijing BOE Optoelectronics Technology Co. in Beijing E-Town enterprises were both selected.

Beijing E-Town is home to four hidden champion enterprises so far.

The selection of hidden champion enterprises establishes clear requirements for the company's leading products, market position, financial quality, and scientific and technological research and development level. 

For instance, the market share of the leading products of such enterprises must reach first place in the country or top three in the world, and their main business income should come from a highly segmented market.

The R&D investment should account for more than 5 percent of the operating income, or the R&D investment in the previous year should have exceeded 100 million yuan ($13.67 million). The company should host or participate in one or more formulations of industrial standards, and the proportion of R&D personnel should be no less than 20 percent.

The CNCS focuses on the development needs of the national nuclear industry, explores nuclear detection, and improves its professional and technical level and refined management capabilities.

The Beijing BOE Optoelectronics Technology Co. has successfully obtained patent authorization of "The control method of vision correction instrument, vision correction instrument and computer storage medium" in vision correction products.

As of now, Beijing E-Town has cultivated 11 unicorn enterprises, one manufacturing single champion demonstration enterprise, four Beijing hidden champion enterprises, 562 Beijing specialized and sophisticated SMEs, and 85 national specialized and sophisticated "little giant" companies, forming a gradient cultivation system for innovative enterprises of "unicorns, single champions, hidden champions and specialized and sophisticated ones".
