Industrial output value in Beijing E-Town doubles in one decade

Since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, Beijing E-Town's industrial output value has risen from 300 billion yuan ($41.46 billion), to almost 600 billion yuan, ranking first in Beijing.

Over the past decade, new technology and new products have mushroomed in Beijing E-Town.

By the end of 2021, the output value of high-tech enterprises in Beijing E-Town accounted for 96.7 percent of the total industrial output value of the area.

The contribution rate of the four leading industries to the total industrial output value has reached 97.7 percent.

A number of integrated circuit industry platforms and major projects have all settled in Beijing E-Town in the past ten years, and the scale of its integrated circuit industry now accounts for half of that in Beijing.

At the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics, the beautiful ultra-high-definition screen was created by BOE, an enterprise in Beijing E-Town. 

One out of every four displays in the world is produced by the company. Last year, BOE ranked first in the world in terms of shipments of liquid crystal displays in five major application areas, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, monitors and TVs.

Last year, the output value of the new-generation information technology industry in Beijing E-Town increased by more than 20 percent year-on-year, becoming the fourth industrial cluster of 100 billion yuan, following the automobile, biomedicine, and industrial Internet industries. 

By 2025, two more hundred-billion-level industrial clusters will be added, the regional GDP is expected to reach 380 billion yuan, and the total industrial output value exceed 800 billion yuan, according to sources in Beijing E-Town.

A new production line of world-renowned pharmaceutical company Bayer is stepping up construction in Beijing E-Town. 

Once put into use, four full-automatic high-speed production lines and full-automatic logistics systems will increase production capacity by 40 percent.

In the past 10 years, more and more multinational companies have built the latest and most cutting-edge production lines here. 

Up to now, Beijing E-Town has attracted more than 90 Fortune 500 companies to invest in more than 140 projects.

AstraZeneca, GE, Varian, Pony.ai and other overseas-funded companies have successively established their overseas headquarters or R&D headquarters in Beijing E-Town.

These achievements are also inseparable from the policy innovation of Beijing E-Town, which has the highest concentration of administrative licensing rights in China.

Reforms, such as the "one integrated license", have made procedures simpler, links fewer, costs lower and efficiency higher.
