Starting from June 7 this year, the 2022 Beijing Intellectual Property Insurance Premium Subsidy Policy was officially introduced. 

This is also the last year for the implementation of this policy, and the pilot work of Beijing Intellectual Property Insurance will come to an end.

To further strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights, optimize Beijing's business environment, and boost the construction of Beijing's National Science and Technology Innovation Center, starting from 2020, a three-year pilot work on intellectual property premium subsidy in Beijing was launched.

The Beijing intellectual property insurance is aimed at single champions in the manufacturing sector, invisible champions among overseas-funded companies, small, medium and micro enterprises (SME) in the top 10 cutting-edge industries, and SMEs in the field of hard technology. 

The premium subsidy standard for the single champion enterprise that meets the conditions is 100 percent subsidy for the first declaration, 80 percent subsidy for the second declaration, 50 percent subsidy for the third declaration, and a maximum subsidy of 500,000 yuan ($74,450).

The premium subsidy standard for small and medium-sized enterprises in key areas that meet the conditions is 100 percent subsidy for the first declaration, 90 percent subsidy for the second declaration, 80 percent subsidy for the third declaration, and a maximum subsidy of 200,000 yuan.

According to statistics, from January to March 2022, enterprises in the BDA obtained a total of 2,842 patent authorizations, a year-on-year increase of 34.31 percent, including 701 invention patents, a year-on-year increase of 21.28 percent; a total of 150 PCT patents were applied for, a year-on-year increase of 3.45 percent.
