Environmentally friendly technologies have been widely used in transportation and delivery services at the ongoing Beijing Winter Games as Beijing endeavors to deliver a green Olympics.

Beijing Bus Group, transportation provider at Beijing 2022, said 85.84 percent of the 2,363 vehicles used in supporting the Games run on clean energy, the highest proportion among previous Winter Olympics.

The clean energy vehicles include more than 1,000 hydrogen buses and 30 hydrogen refueling stations, the group said.

The use of clean energy vehicles during the Winter Olympics will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 11,000 tons, equivalent to the carbon sequestration of more than 3,300 hectares of forests in one year.

JD Logistics, the delivery sector of e-commerce giant JD, has been working to build a green supply chain, an official with the company said during an interview organized by the 2022 Beijing Media Center on Friday.

As China's first and one of seven global logistics service providers for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, JD Logistics supported the Games with its green technologies, said Duan Yanjian, who is in charge of the JD Green Logistics Plan.

"We have deployed new energy vehicles and used recyclable packing boxes in the competition zones," Duan said, adding some food and game equipment are delivered by their fuel cell electric vehicles in the Olympic Village.

The recyclable packing boxes are tape-free and can be used more than 50 times.

In addition, JD said it will promote the "Asia No.1" intelligent industrial park in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi province, to be among the first batch of carbon-neutral demonstration parks.
