Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance, and the State Administration for Market Supervision jointly released the "Implementation Plan of Smart Manufacturing Pilot Demonstration Action".
The plan calls for building several smart manufacturing demonstration factories by 2025.
The robotics and intelligent manufacturing industry is one of the four leading industries in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA).
Relying on the gathering of high-end manufacturing enterprises, equipment manufacturing and information technology companies, the BDA has built a number of intelligent manufacturing benchmark enterprises.
Since the implementation of the "Smart Manufacturing 100" project in Beijing, 65 smart manufacturing benchmark enterprises have been included, of which 21 are from the BDA, including Beijing Benz, BOE, SMC, Yaskawa Shougang, SMIC, Bosch Rexroth, and TPV Display.
According to the BDA's survey of key intelligent manufacturing pilot demonstration enterprises, its overall intelligent manufacturing level is relatively high, and 70 percent of its enterprises are at the third integration level, moving from the digital network stage to the intelligent stage. Several companies have reached the fourth optimization level.
During the "14th Five-Year Plan" (2021-25) period, the BDA will upgrade its robot and intelligent manufacturing industry clusters, focus on the development of intelligent robots, intelligent manufacturing equipment, and aerospace industries, and build a number of super factories.
By 2025, the total scale of the industrial cluster is expected to exceed 100 billion yuan ($15.66 billion).
