BDA expands lineup on Fortune 500 Global List
The 2021 Fortune 500 Global list was released on Aug 2.
The number of Chinese companies reached 143, ranking first on the list. This figure was an increase of 10 from the previous year, meaning that China is also the country with the largest number of growth.
Of course, companies from the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) frequently appeared on the list.
Not only have many Fortune 500 companies settled in the BDA, but many of those who have settled in the area also improved their own rankings.
As a key enterprise in the BDA, JD Group performed well in the 2021 Fortune Global 500 list, rising from 102nd, in 2020, to 59, and entering the top 100 for the first time. It also successfully maintained the highest position of a Chinese Internet company.
The group's annual net income in 2020 amounted to 745.8 billion yuan ($11.52 billion).

In addition to the JD Group, the rankings of the Fortune 500 companies in the BDA, such as the Xiaomi Group, the China State Construction Group, the State Grid Corporation, the Sinopharm Group, the COFCO, and the CETC, have also increased.
For AstraZeneca, there were two major gains in the first half of this year. One was the opening of its northern headquarters in the BDA, and the other was its return to the Fortune 500 list in 2021. It now ranks 462nd .

With the world's top 500 companies having successively invested in projects in the BDA, more than 140 projects invested in by over 90 Fortune 500 companies, such as Schneider, ABB, GE, Bayer, SMC, and Sanofi. have gathered in the area.
