The 2021 World 5G Conference will be held in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) from August 6 to 8. 

Influential experts in the global information and communication field, world-renowned 5G service providers, and 5G industry applications will gather in the area to focus on industry, economy and innovation, to build a bridge between 5G international exchanges and cooperation and collaborative innovation of the industrial chain, and to showcase original 5G technology innovation and application results.

By the end of April, 1,374 5G base stations had been built and opened in the 60 square kilometers of the BDA, with a base station density of 22.9 per square kilometer, which is 6.7 times the city's average. 

Autonomous driving is one of the 5G application scenarios. The BDA relies on the construction of high-level autonomous driving demonstration areas to promote the opening of a number of autonomous driving application scenarios.

The area has formed a 5G network collaborative construction mechanism with China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom and the Beijing branch of China Tower to accelerate the construction of 5G communication infrastructure.

Support will be offered to 5G companies in terms of scientific research funding, rental subsidies, and investment in fixed assets.

Besides, the BDA will support 5G enterprises in the area to apply for the National Integrated Circuit Industry Fund and the Beijing 5G Industry Fund, and high-quality public resources such as housing, medical treatment and education will be provided for talents involved in the 5G industry.
