Updated: 2021-04-29

The Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) sub-center of the Beijing Intellectual Property Protection Center was set up during the 2021 "Promotion Week of Intellectual Property Day" on April 25.

After the inauguration of the sub-center, it will provide comprehensive services such as patent pre-examination support for key industries, rapid rights protection, and IP protection collaboration for innovative entities in the BDA.

At the unveiling ceremony, the Beijing Municipal Intellectual Property Office awarded the BDA sub-center a plaque and issued patent pre-examination acceptance notices to four enterprises in the area.

Meanwhile, the Beijing Intellectual IP Center and the BDA Science and Technology Innovation Bureau jointly signed the "Joint Construction Agreement of the BDA Sub-center of the Beijing IP Protection Center" and issued the "BDA IP Three-Year Action Plan."

During the event, it was announced that the "BDA IP Operation Service Alliance" composed of 38 IP service organizations and 100 IP experts had been established.

"Sub-centers" will build a comprehensive IP service platform in the BDA, open up the entire chain of IP property creation, application, protection, management and services, and accelerate the progress of patent pre-examination and approval.

"The 'sub-center' is Beijing's first sub-center of the IP protection center in the free trade zone, which is important for promoting the construction of the "two zones", doing a good job in the protection of intellectual property rights, and optimizing the business environment in the BDA,” said an official of the BDA’s Science and Technology Innovation Bureau.
