The Torch Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology has announced that 2,251 "maker spaces" are eligible for national recognition in 2020, including seven enterprises in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA).

The BDA's seven companies are China Incubation Hi-Tech Industry Incubation (Beijing) Co., Ltd., Beijing Tongming Lake Information City Development Co., Ltd., Fengchuang Technology Development (Beijing) Co., Ltd., Beijing Kuaitouhui Network Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Ankuai Venture Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Jiucheng Software Co., Ltd. and Beijing Dongshangtaihe Technology Co., Ltd.

There are currently seven national-level maker spaces, ten municipal-level maker spaces and ten district-level maker spaces in the BDA.

In 2012, NiuTrans, a Fengchuang Technology investment, officially settled in the Fengchuang Science Park. 

"Our team has successfully completed the research and development of the kernel technology of machine translation, and is conducting system integration and application testing of the technical results," said Zhu Jingbo, founder of NiuTrans. "The research results will be applied to the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Such results cannot be achieved without the support of the Fengchuang Science Park." 

In addition to NiuTrans, XIOONG Technology, Hehuaruibo, Yake Wisdom and other companies have also chosen BDA. 

Makers favor BDA due to its solid foundations of innovation and entrepreneurship. 

For instance, Fengchuang Science Park, with a total construction area of 165,000 square meters, is a park featuring e-commerce and "Internet +" businesses. More than 200 companies involved in e-commerce, mobile technology and other industries have settled in.

Among the enterprises entering the park, Fengchuang Science Park not only offers space and basic property services, but also provides technical support such as public technical service platforms, entrepreneurial mentors, investment and financing, information services, and marketing.
