Invested by Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation, Beijing SMIC Private School provides education at kindergarten, primary, junior high school and senior high school levels to students from 19 countries and regions.

About the school

Since its establishment in 2005, Beijing SMIC Private School has promoted holistic education, autonomous thinking, individuality education, critical thinking, and social responsibility; it has also designed characteristic courses integrating Chinese and Western cultures.

At present, the school covers an area of 26,800 square meters and has a building area of 20,097 square meters. It has a total of 47,900 books written in Chinese and English. There are 58 teaching classes, with more than 200 faculty members (among whom 55 are foreign teachers) and 1,380 students from 16 different countries and regions. With the principle of "love and responsibility", it focuses on children's growth, and its teaching concept and educational quality are highly appreciated by society. 

About the kindergarten

Beijing SMIC kindergarten is a day care nursery established in 2005.

It covers an area of 5,800 square meters, and has a building area of 4,475 square meters and a green area of 2,870 square meters. There are 13 mixed-age bilingual classes and 4 international classes with 464 children and 93 teachers.

The kindergarten adheres to mixed age bilingual teaching combining Montessori with theme-based teaching. Parents have opportunities to participate in decisions on important matters and right of supervision, making the kindergarten a model for home-kindergarten education. In the past thirteen years, it has been committed to the growth of children.

In 2015, commissioned by the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, the SMIC Nanhaizi Kindergarten was established on the Sihai Road. The kindergarten covers an area of 6,000 square meters and has a building area of 5,589 square meters. Currently there are 12 mixed-age bilingual classes and three international classes with 409 children and 68 faculty members. Based on the education concept and teaching model of Beijing SMIC kindergarten, it focuses on children's development.
