The Xuancheng-Jixi High-Speed Railway has reached a significant milestone with the completion of track laying on May 3. The entire line, spanning 111.653 kilometer, is now fully connected. Except for sections at Xuancheng Station and Jixi North Station, which use ballasted tracks, the rest of the line features ballastless tracks. The seamless tracks cover 227.41 kilometers.
As a crucial part of the Yangtze River Delta intercity rail network, the Xuancheng-Jixi HSR is located in Xuancheng, Anhui Province. Starting from the existing Xuancheng Station, it passes through Ningguo and ends at the existing Jixi North Station. The newly constructed line is 111.6 kilometers long, with stations at Xuancheng, Ningguo South, and Jixi North. Designed for a speed of 350 km per hour, the project has a total investment of approximately 15.6 billion yuan.
Scheduled to open in September 2024, this high-speed rail line will significantly reduce travel time between Jiangsu, Anhui, and Jiangxi provinces, promoting regional economic integration and development. Once operational, it will provide direct high-speed rail access between Huangshan and Wuhu, enhancing travel convenience and connectivity.
The completion of the Xuancheng-Jixi HSR marks a major step forward in improving the transportation infrastructure within the Yangtze River Delta, paving the way for increased economic activity and mobility in the region.
