Pear blossom festival kicks off in SND

The 2023 Suzhou Shushan Pear Blossom Culture and Tourism Festival was held in Suzhou New District, Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, on March 24.

The festival includes 18 activities involving sports, scenic spots, hotels, performances, and art, including the 2023 Baimajian Longchi Kite Festival and the 2023 First Suzhou Talk Show.

A tramcar was launched on the same day for cherry blossom lovers, who can travel along the 3.5-kilometer Yinghua Road lined with blooming cherry trees.

Tramcars themed on coffee, barbecue, and light meals will also be launched along the 28-km Taihu Lake shoreline and Taihu Lake National Wetland Park in SND.

In addition, a campaign encouraging artists to seek inspiration in local villages and the First SND Taihu Lake Camping Festival were unveiled.

Launched in 2008, the Suzhou Shushan Pear Blossom Culture and Tourism Festival has been held for the past 16 years and has become a well-known event in China.

Shushan village boasts a well-preserved natural environment and has significantly progressed in rural vitalization in recent years.

It has been named a national ecological village and the most beautiful village in Jiangsu. Four of its natural villages were listed among the first batch of ancient natural villages in Suzhou in 2022.
