The 2021 Suzhou Science and Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition kicked off in Suzhou New District on April 27, local media reported.
The competition aims at creating a friendly environment for entrepreneurs and innovators, as well as boosting technological innovation in Suzhou.
A total of 16 projects took part in the first round of the roadshow competitions, covering areas like information technology and artificial intelligence. Participants introduced their products, innovative services, and market competitiveness.
The competition has adopted a new evaluation model, aiming to attract more high-quality projects that will settle in SND.
The competition was supported by a plan initiated by the Suzhou government in 2015 to boost scientific and technological entrepreneurship.
It has supported a total of 1,504 entrepreneurial projects and helped start-up companies get nearly 500 million yuan ($77.73 million) in investment.
SND has been dedicated to creating a friendly environment for entrepreneurs and innovators. In the first quarter of this year, the district has attracted 430 innovative enterprises, up 30 percent year-on-year, as well as 150 high-quality sci-tech projects.
