The market supervision bureau of Suzhou New District recently launched the Shushan Food Map with the opening of the Pear Blossom Festival to allow local residents to better enjoy pear blossoms while savoring delicious food.
The food map provides information about the specialty dishes, number of private rooms, parking spaces, and reservation phone numbers of all the restaurants in Shushan. To ensure the smooth operation of the Pear Blossom Festival, the bureau made early arrangements and deployed special inspections on special equipment users and catering establishments in the village.
During the inspection, regulatory enforcement officers reviewed the technical files, maintenance records, and personnel credentials of all in-use special equipment. They conducted supervision inspections on the environmental hygiene of dining areas and processing premises in catering establishments, as well as the health and personal hygiene of employees, tableware cleaning and disinfection, and verification of food and raw material procurement. Additionally, they entrusted testing agencies to conduct sampling inspections on food operators. A total of 132 batches from 19 establishments were sampled, covering tableware, edible agricultural products, beverages, condiments, meat products, pastries, and more. The inspection results showed that all samples were qualified.
"At this time of every year, enjoying pear blossoms is a wonderful thing, but finding parking spaces for dining can be troublesome. With the introduction of this food map, it becomes much more convenient and time-saving," praised local residents. Zhou Qiang, director of the district's market supervision bureau in Tong'an, stated, "The Shushan Pear Blossom Festival will be held until after the May Day holiday. During this period, we will continue to carry out food safety and special equipment safety supervision to ensure that all visitors to Shushan have a joyful and worry-free experience."
