Suzhou Science and Technology Town Hospital in Suzhou New District saw the opening of its upgraded stomatology center on Aug 19.
In order to create a comfortable and patient-friendly environment, the stomatology center underwent a significant revamp. Some of the measures included extending its area from 400 square meters to 1,300 sq m, being the first one in Suzhou to have different aisles for medical staff and patients and applying the highest standard of hospital infection control in the overall design of the treatment area.
"Separate consulting rooms have been constructed in the center so that patients can have their privacy. We also have comfort treatment rooms for patients with a low pain tolerance. With advanced technologies such as inhalation general anesthesia, they can receive complex treatment as an outpatient," said Song Weijian, director of the stomatology center.
Four pieces of high-end medical equipment that are the only ones in Suzhou have been introduced to the center, including a Leica F40 Oral Microscopy and a NEWTOM CBCT (Cone Bean Computed Tomography).
As a key construction project of Suzhou Science and Technology Town Hospital, the stomatology center has made great achievements in the past two years, especially after September 2017, when the hospital introduced an expert team from Nanjing Medical University (NMU) led by Wanglin, vice president of NMU.
