A new finance street is to be constructed in the central business district (CBD) of Suzhou New District, close to the Grand Canal which runs through the city, with work set to begin at the end of July, local media have reported.
The Grand Canal in China, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the longest as well as one of the oldest canals in the world and a renowned tourist destination.
Sun Hongbin, president of Sunac China, a real estate company who will be the finance street's main developers, said that the project under discussion will be built with an advanced design concept to provide its future occupiers with a comfortable environment and many amenities.
Sticking to green, modern and innovative principles, the overall project will present a water surrounded environment with roof gardens, landscaping plants and sharing pathways, echoing the beautiful scenery of the neighboring Grand Canal.
Covering an area of 136,500 square meters, the finance street is expected to integrate working, shopping, catering, and urban living.
Mid- and high-end long-term rental apartments will be one of the highlights of the finance street, offering an ideal residence for financial workers working there.
Founded in 2003, Sunac China Holdings Limited is engaged in developing residential and commercial properties targeting the high-end market.
