The 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE) will take place from Nov 5 to 10 in Shanghai.

The CIIE is composed of a comprehensive exhibition of nations, a business exhibition of enterprises and an international economic forum.

The expo is a crucial move by the government to promote trade liberalization and economic globalization, as well as the country's further opening-up to the world.

This year, the China pavilion will focus on the achievements of economic development for the 70th anniversary of the founding of People's Republic of China. Other countries will also be provided with opportunities to display developments in their trade and investment.

The exhibition for enterprises includes seven sectors: technology of life, automobiles, equipment, medical equipment and medical care, quality of life, service trade, food and agricultural products.

A total of 172 countries, regions and international organizations and more than 3,600 enterprises participated in the first CIIE, held in 2018 in Shanghai. It was the world's first import-themed national-level expo.
