Two Tangjiawan incubators receive national accolades
Gangwan No 1 Science Creation Park and Zhuhai Information Port in the Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Tangjiawan) were recently designated as 2021 National Science & Technology Enterprise Incubators by the Ministry of Science & Technology.
The accolade credits sci-tech innovation service carriers that adhere to the promotion of sci-tech achievement transformation, as well as cultivation of high-tech enterprises and entrepreneurs.
Currently, there are six National Science & Technology Enterprise Incubators in Tangjiawan, accounting for 50 percent of city's total. In-house innovation and entrepreneurship projects will enjoy preferential taxation policies in areas spanning property, business, and corporate income taxes.
Gangwan No 1 Science Creation Park was invested in, renovated, and run by Zhuhai Hi-Tech Construction & Investment, a wholly-State-owned enterprise under the Hi-Tech Zone, on the basis of the former Tangjia No 2 Industrial Zone off Gangwan Avenue.

Since opening in 2017, it has formulated industrial clusters in software design, the internet, and integrated circuits. The park is home to enterprises and institutes like the South China headquarters of Qi An Xin Technology Group, Xiaomi Tech, Seasun Entertainment, as well as the China-Germany Artificial Intelligence Institute.
Zhuhai Information Port on East Jintang Road is the most distinctive 5A-level complex for hi-tech industries in the Pearl River Delta and was rated as a provincial science & technology enterprise incubator in 2018. It integrates multifunctional facilities, such as a headquarters building, maker space incubator, co-working spaces, comprehensive service platforms, as well as experiential industrial supporting facilities.
Given priority to attracting innovative enterprises in the hi-tech, internet, big data, and biomedicine industries, the information port strives to become a global information industrial base with annual output value of over 10 billion yuan ($2 billion) within three years.
The Hi-Tech Zone currently has 16 incubators with construction area of 1.73 million sq m (428 acres). It will enhance management and service of local science and technology business incubators to push forward entrepreneurship, innovation, and high-quality development.
