Trial measures have been drafted by the Zhuhai Agricultural & Rural Bureau to provide hefty subsidies to new-type agricultural businesses, modern agricultural industrial parks, and specialized villages and towns.

Under the plan, modern agricultural industrial parks at provincial or municipal levels would be granted up to 30 million yuan ($4.2 million). Meanwhile, national leisure agriculture demonstration sites would obtain a maximum award of 1 million yuan ($140,000).

The subsidies to modern agricultural industrial parks will be allocated over two years. Meanwhile, specialized villages and towns authenticated by national, provincial, and municipal agricultural and rural authorities will be awarded 3 million yuan ($420,000), 2 million yuan ($281,100), and 1 million yuan ($140,000) each for infrastructure constructed.

In addition, rural B&Bs based on farmhouses, village collective housing, or unoccupied cottages are encouraged. Those with investments of over 3 million yuan and operating area up to 600 sq m may be granted up to 1 million yuan each.

Farm produce processing plants and matched cold storage with investment of 20 million yuan ($2.8 million) may also obtain a one-off award of 5 percent of the total cost, with a 10 million yuan ($2.8 million) ceiling each.

Furthermore, newly built or purchased deep-sea fishing vessels are eligible for a one-time subsidy of 2.5 million yuan ($351,400) to a maximum 8 million yuan ($1.12 million).
