New Hengqin schools will bear name of Yung Wing
A pair of schools bearing the name of Zhuhai native Yung Wing (Rong Hong) -- the forefather of Chinese overseas study -- will be built in Hengqin New Area and funded by Huafa Educational Investment Holdings Co.
Huafa Yung Wing School, with floorage of 80,330 sq m (20 acres), will be located north of Zhenzhu (Pearl) Road and west of Hongjing Road. It will have 36 classes providing nine-year compulsory education.

Also west of Hongjing Road, the adjacent Huafa Yung Wing Senior High School is sited north of North Ring (Huandao) Road, with 81,346 sq m (20.1 acres) in floor area. It will encompass both general and international high schools and provide 45 classes.
The two Yung Wing schools will have independent teaching facilities while sharing public resources. Teaching, dormitory, and administration buildings are to be purpose-built, as are the playground, library, gymnasium, theatre hall, and teacher development center.

Currently, Hengqin is home to a private and a public kindergarten, public elementary school, and public middle school, with four public and five private schools in preliminary planning stages or under construction.
Among them are the Innovation Leadership Academy (ILA) Hengqin and Wycombe Abbey International School Hengqin. The academy, set to offer middle and high school curriculums to 900 mainland, Hong Kong, and intentional students based on the education resources of the British Harrow School, will open by September 2020. Meanwhile, Wycombe Abbey's first international school in China will provide 1,065 students with K-12 education.
